January 24 2015, #SSSKnifeFightSystem is hosting an open tournament for Knife Fighting, Stick Fighinting and Longsword. 

This is Colorado's first multi weapon combat sport competition. We are hoping for a strong turnout in all fight categories.

2nd Colorado Knife Fight Dec 14

Hi everyone! It's nearly time for the 2nd Colorado Open Knife Fight Tourniment.
On December 14th at 10:00am we kick off Colorado's only Knife fight competition.
This competition will be governed by the SSS Knife Fighters Assosiation.
If you want to put some reality into your training, our level 1 Tourniment could be the answer!

Colorado Knife Fight 2! Dec 14 2014

Knife fight 2 

With help from our Canadian knife fighters, we have made a few changes to improve scoring. 

For the main tournament we will follow the same Level 1 rules, but with new more visible white knives and color bands on each athlete. 

Individual matches will be set for a new rule set 1.5. 

-cuts, and thrusts scored 

-no other strikes will be allowed while standing

-throws and takedowns will be allowed 

-30 seconds of ground battle will be allowed in any case

-in the event of constant action, the ground battle will be allowed to continue until a stall in action

-submissions will be allowed

-stabs or cuts to the head will not be allowed on the ground due to headgear loss

-no small digit grabs, no less than 4 fingers at one time can be grabbed on a single hand. 

-submission ends that ground battle, athletes are then stood back up to immediately begin again

-controlled throws, trips and takedowns will be scored highly as control points. 

-if receiving a cut happens during the takedown attempt within the same tempo, the fight will not be stopped

-if receiving a cut the shooting for a takedown occurs, a point will be awarded and the fight restarted

-weight classes will need to be matched as close as possible. 

-knee and elbow braces are encouraged 

-cup and mouth pc are mandatory  

I'll be posting video of scoring techniques not involving diving through or into an opponents blade to get a cut. 

We are doing this tournament to match beta competitions being planed by our Canadian partners.
